The "Cusco" blanket is woven from 100% Peruvian baby alpaca. This is a lightweight and particularly soft quality that will last for many years while remaining beautiful. The alpaca fibers are smooth, supple and flexible. Therefore, a plaid or a scarf made of alpaca is particularly soft and shiny. Even very thin plaids are warm and can mainly be used if you are allergic to wool. Silkeborg Uldspinderi only uses alpaca wool from Peru, where the vast majority of the alpaca population has its natural habitat. The skills of local artisans have been honed over generations, enabling the raw fibers to be transformed into beautiful textiles of exceptional quality. With its softness and warmth, this blanket is truly unique.

Wool and alpaca fiber blankets are naturally stain-resistant, so most stains caused by juice, coffee, etc. can be prevented by gently patting the surface with a dry cloth before the stain penetrates the fibers. Wool and alpaca fibers are excellent at absorbing moisture and are, to a certain extent, self-cleaning. We therefore recommend airing the ceilings frequently. If the stains cannot be removed, we always recommend having alpaca products dry cleaned, as the fibers are very delicate.
